Terms of Service
By using our services, you agree to the following terms and conditions
Felt — Terms of Service
Effective date: July 17, 2026 Last updated: July 17, 2026
These Terms are an agreement between you and Felt LLC, a sole proprietor located in Utah, United States ("Felt," "we," "us," "our"), governing your use of the Felt website and application (the "Service").
By creating an account, starting a trial session, or otherwise using Felt, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
1. What Felt is — and what it isn't
Felt is a self-guided wellness practice tool. It provides structured sessions based on EMDR protocols, grounding exercises, and a reflective drawing practice.
Felt is not:
- a medical device;
- therapy, treatment, or clinical care;
- a diagnosis of any condition;
- a substitute for professional mental health care;
- a crisis service or emergency service.
No clinician relationship is created. Licensed professionals have advised on Felt's design. That does not make them your clinician, and it does not make Felt a clinical service. No one is monitoring your sessions. No one is on the other end.
If you are in crisis, do not use Felt. Contact a licensed professional, call or text 988 (US Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), or call your local emergency number.
2. Eligibility
You must be 18 or older to use Felt. There is no version of the Service available to minors. By using Felt you represent that you are 18+ and legally able to enter this agreement. We will terminate accounts we learn belong to minors.
3. Risks of self-guided trauma work — read this
You are choosing to do trauma-processing work without a therapist present. This carries real risks, which are described in full in the in-app disclaimer you must accept before your first session. In summary, self-guided EMDR may cause:
- temporary or sustained increases in distress;
- unexpected or previously inaccessible memories surfacing;
- nightmares or sleep disruption;
- emotional numbness or dissociation;
- distressing material staying active without a therapist to help contain it;
- in rare cases, a worsening of symptoms overall.
You should be especially cautious, or should not use Felt without professional support, if you have: dissociative identity disorder or significant dissociative symptoms; active psychosis; severe or unstable depression, or suicidal thoughts; a seizure disorder (bilateral stimulation can, rarely, trigger seizures); or a recent traumatic brain injury.
By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read the in-app disclaimer, understand these risks, and voluntarily assume them. You are responsible for your own wellbeing during and after sessions. Stop immediately if you feel overwhelmed, panicked, or disconnected, and use the grounding tools or the emergency stop.
The in-app screening questionnaire is a safety prompt, not a diagnostic assessment. Passing it is not clearance to proceed; it does not mean Felt is appropriate for you.
4. Your account
- You're responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity under your account.
- Provide accurate information and keep it current.
- Don't share your account. Your session history is personal to you.
- Tell us promptly at support@felt-emdr.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
Trial accounts. You may start a session without registering. We create an anonymous account to hold that data. Anonymous trial accounts and their data are deleted automatically after 7 days of inactivity. If you want to keep trial session data, create a real account before then — your data will carry over.
5. Your content
You own what you write and draw. Your session notes, ratings, reflections, and flower drawings are yours.
You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, process, transmit, and display your content solely to operate the Service for you — running your sessions, saving progress, rendering your meadow, and creating backups. This license exists to make the product work. It ends when you delete your content or your account.
We will not: publish your content, share it with third parties beyond the processors named in our Privacy Policy, use it to train machine-learning models, or use it for advertising.
Backups. We keep point-in-time snapshots of sessions so an interrupted session can be recovered. These are deleted along with your account.
6. Acceptable use
Don't:
- use Felt if you're under 18, or on behalf of someone else;
- attempt to access another user's account or data;
- reverse engineer, scrape, or probe the Service, or bypass authentication, rate limits, or the disclaimer gate;
- use the Service to harm yourself or others;
- upload malicious code, or content that is unlawful or infringes someone else's rights;
- resell, sublicense, or use the Service to provide services to third parties;
- misrepresent Felt as clinical treatment, or use it in a professional or clinical setting without a written agreement with us.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section.
7. Our intellectual property
Felt — including its software, session flows, copy, guidance content, visual design, the meadow and flower systems, and the "Felt" name and marks — is owned by us and protected by intellectual property law. Your license to use it is limited, personal, non-transferable, and revocable.
Session content and instructional material in the Service is provided for your personal use only. Don't reproduce or redistribute it.
EMDR protocols themselves are a body of clinical practice; we claim no ownership over them, only over our implementation, guidance, and interface.
8. Fees and subscriptions
Felt is offered through the plans described on our pricing page. Prices, billing periods, and what's included are shown before you pay.
- Founding Member. Sign up during our founding period to use Felt free for your first 3 months. When the free period ends, continued access requires a paid subscription; we won't charge you without your explicit consent to a paid plan.
- Subscriptions. Paid access is offered as a Monthly plan at $8/month or an Annual plan at $60/year ($5/month). Both include unlimited session use, journal tracking, a free consultation with a live therapist, and opt-in session analysis.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price until cancelled. Cancel any time from Settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We don't receive or store your full card details.
- Refunds: If you're not satisfied, email us at support@felt-emdr.com within 30 days of a payment for a full refund of that charge. Statutory refund and withdrawal rights, including the EU/UK right of withdrawal for consumers, are unaffected by anything in this section.
- We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice before the change applies to your renewal.
9. Availability
Felt is provided on an "as available" basis. We may modify, suspend, interrupt, or discontinue the Service or any feature. If we discontinue Felt entirely, we will give reasonable notice and a way to export your data first.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We make no warranty that the Service will produce any therapeutic result, reduce your distress, be uninterrupted or error-free, or be suitable for your particular situation. Individual results vary, and for some people self-guided work will not help.
Some jurisdictions don't allow exclusion of implied warranties; in those places, this section applies to the maximum extent permitted.
11. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost profits, or emotional distress arising from your use of the Service.
- Our total aggregate liability to you for all claims will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) USD $100.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or gross negligence or willful misconduct. If you are a consumer in the EEA, UK, or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protections, those protections apply regardless of this section, and this section applies only to the extent permitted there.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Felt LLC from claims, damages, and reasonable legal fees arising from your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of another person's rights. This does not apply to claims arising from our own negligence or misconduct.
13. Termination
You can stop using Felt at any time and delete your account permanently from Settings → Delete. Deletion is irreversible and cascades to your sessions, profile, and backups.
We may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these Terms, for legal reasons, or if we discontinue the Service. Where circumstances allow, we'll give notice and an opportunity to export your data.
Sections 1, 3, 5 (your ownership), 7, and 10–15 survive termination.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. You and we agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Salt Lake County, Utah, for any dispute.
If you are a consumer resident in the EEA, UK, or another jurisdiction whose law gives you the right to bring proceedings in your local courts, this section does not deprive you of that right, or of the protection of mandatory provisions of your local law.
Before filing anything, please email support@felt-emdr.com. Most things are resolvable directly, and we'd rather fix it.
15. General
- Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the complete agreement between us regarding the Service.
- Changes. We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced by email or in-app at least 14 days before taking effect, unless a change is required sooner by law. Continuing to use Felt after that means you accept the new Terms.
- Severability. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
- No waiver. Not enforcing something once doesn't waive it.
- Assignment. You may not assign these Terms. We may assign them to a successor entity — including if Felt LLC incorporates or is acquired — on notice to you.
- Force majeure. We're not liable for failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
